Welcome to my Queendom.

A few years ago, I read two books that changed my attitude about life.

The first was The Sweet Potato Queens Book of Love by Jill Conner Browne. It's an irreverent book about living boldly and embracing your bad-ass self. The second book was Queen of Your Own Life, by Kathy Kinney and Cindy Ratzlaff. It's about celebrating who you are and letting go of the expectations of others.

The combination of these two books inspired me to claim my official, royal title; Queen GivemeBeer of Karmalot. My Queendom is made up of my home on a farm and dairy in Southern Idaho, my community, and the world around me. I'm a "bloom where you're planted" kind of girl, so where ever I am -- that's my castle.

The Queendom is really just the people and places in my world that fill my soul and make me happy.

Here on the website, the castle is divided up into several different "rooms". The newest is Connection. Recent events in my life have forced me to redefine what the word family means from every angle. I'll tackle those subjects on the Connections page.

At "The Farm Yard" -- I'll share the stories and silliness that comes with living on a farm with family and animals.

Stitch-n-Bitch is my art studio where sometimes there's more bitchin' than stitchin'! My various art and fiber projects get featured here. This space is sponsored by Sallis Back Porch Fabrics,

The Dork and Otter is the official pub of the Queendom. You'll find a tasty beverage or two here and perhaps a good story to tell.

A Plum is the castle kitchen. Soon you'll find recipes and farm-to-table information here.

I'm very passionate about issues relating to body image and self-esteem. You'll read about those topics in Soular Power.

Quests will take you on adventures in and around the Queendom.

There are also several characters you'll get to know. My fellow Queens will be introduced by their royal title. They're often joined by the Soul Warriors -- my most trusted advisors and friends. These are the people who make my life possible. They lift me up in every way.

The villagers are the animal inhabitants of the Queendom. There is a pack of angry terrorist geese, more cats than I can handle and cows. So. Many. Cows.

Enjoy your time here in Karmalot. Be yourself. Have fun. and stick around a while -- you never know what you'll find around here.
